The Aussie Millions continues to draw massive crowds from all over the world for its January tournament series at the Crown Casino in Melbourne. The 2010 events were no different, and when it came to the Main Event, some of the biggest names in poker mixed with anyone who could offer up the $10,500 buy-in to play for the prestigious Aussie Millions title.

The sixth season of the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour traveled to the popular stop of Deauville, France on January 20, and its popularity set it up to break records. The cap of 600 players was quickly lifted as the players poured in to the Casino Barriere in record numbers.

Each year, the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure grows and attracts more players, and 2010 was no different, as it boasted of 50 tournaments, including a charity event, parties, and the biggest field for its $10,000 buy-in Main Event in the tournament’s history.

As the MiniFTOPS of December 2009 nears its final weekend, another ten tournaments have reported results with another $1,454,920 having been awarded in prize money. For a tournament series that boasts of buy-ins that are 1/10th of the standard FTOPS series, more than $3.5 million has been given away already, and the Main Event has yet to take place.

In less than two weeks, FTOPS XIV was over with the late night/early morning finale of the Main Event. The 25 events brought 54,823 players to the tables and $18,153,100 in prize money, which made it another successful series.

The first ten events of the 14th installment of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) produced solid fields and winners who were awarded potentially life-changing money, but the Full Tilt Pros were noticeably absent from those final tables. But the next nine events in the series brought them out in force. Steve Zolotow and Julian Gardner both took second place finishes, and Peter Feldman took ninth in a six-handed event but came close to that final table.

The $5,500 UltimateBet.com Aruba Poker Classic began on October 5 near the Caribbean island beach. Many players and their friends and families combined the ideal vacation spot with the tournament, but with hundreds of thousands of dollars to win, poker was on their minds when the cards were dealt.

The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) £10,000 NLHE Main Event began on September 26, 2009. In its third year, the event had gained much prestige, and those who came to play were some of the most recognizable faces and skilled players in poker.

The first ever Caesars Cup challenge was discussed as far back as the 2009 WSOP in Las Vegas, when the two team captains were chosen and began selecting their teammates. But it wasn’t until September 25, 2009, at the Casino at the Empire in London, just before the start of the World Series of Poker Europe main event, that the day’s worth of poker matches got underway.

The third annual World Series of Poker Europe kicked off on September 18, 2009, with the first of four tournaments scheduled for the September/October series in London. The Casino at the Empire in Leicester Square was the place, and players were descending upon its poker tournament rooms from around the globe. Event 1 was the £1,060 no-limit hold’em event, a reduced price from the 2008 event, and it kicked off the action for WSOPE.
