JP Kelly Claims Event 1 Title at WSOP Europe The third annual World Series of Poker Europe kicked off on September 18, 2009, with the first of four tournaments scheduled for the September/October series in London. The Casino at the Empire in Leicester Square was the place, and players were descending upon its poker tournament rooms from around the globe. Event 1 was the Â£1,060 no-limit holdâ€™em event, a reduced price from the 2008 event, and it kicked off the action for WSOPE.

Sunday Poker Report 9/20 - Impressive Showing for dubbeemin It was an average Sunday in September for most, but for dubbeemin, it meant two final tables in Sunday major tournaments. While a win wasn’t in the cards, the showing was an impressive one. For everyone else, there were a number of regular Sunday events on tap in addition to the WCOOP on PokerStars.

2009 WCOOP: EVENTS 31-40 - ElkY and Unassigned Grab Titles The fourth set of ten tournaments in the 2009 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) was highlighted not only by exciting events and massive guarantees, but the players who made the final tables and won the tournaments wrote the story. Not only did two-time SCOOP winner Terrence Chan win a WCOOP this week, but the second Team PokerStars Pro won a bracelet as well, this time in Frenchman Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier.

2009 WCOOP: EVENTS 21-30 Find g0lfa With Second Title This set of events took us directly into the second half of the 2009 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) and saw some stars begin to emerge. There were players at final tables who had done well in previous events, and then there was g0lfa. After having won Event 18, the online pro was at it again to claim a victory in Event 29. g0lfa became the only player to claim two bracelets at the 2009 WCOOP and the only one likely to accomplish such a difficult feat. Many others claimed their first bracelets, though, and all of the results are listed here.

Sunday Poker Report 9/13 - Full Tilt Guarantees Rule the Day The day was a light one for the Sunday majors. Many of its regular events are still on hiatus, specifically on PokerStars, because of the WCOOP, but others were missing from the lineup as well. The $200K Guarantee on UltimateBet was not listed, nor was the $22 Double Deuce tournament on Full Tilt. But all of this put Full Tilt Poker at the top of the guarantee game for the day, as its $750K Guarantee offered the biggest prize pool and highest top prize.

EPT Kicks Off Season Six with Lykov Winning Kyiv The European Poker Tour was scheduled to kick off its sixth season in Moscow with its first foray into that part of the world, but when Russia declared poker no longer a sport and casinos closed, the change was made to move the tour stop to Kyiv, Ukraine. FTOPS XIII - Poligraph Claims Main Event Title to Wrap Series The whirlwind set of tournaments that is FTOPS concluded on Sunday, August 16, with the declaration of Poligraph as the Main Event winner. FTOPS XIII - Ten More Events Award More Than 7 Million Dollars As the 13th installment of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) pushed on, the online poker players of the world came out in droves for the tournaments. With the first five events done in only three days, the next four days hosted ten tournaments, all of which boasted of high registration numbers that surpassed the guarantees each and every time. Events 6 through 15 boasted of $7,289,000 in prize money and 21,631 players, which put Full Tilt Poker on point to break its own previous FTOPS records and become the largest FTOPS to date.
